Heisman Hopefuls

The Heisman Memorial Trophy is College Football's biggest honor. As the season wears down each week, the race is still pretty open. This year there doesn't seem t be a clear cut winner this year. Almost every team is going to finish with at least one loss, so team's wins and losses shouldn't play that big of a role. With that being said here is my list of Heisman Hopefuls for week 8. I will not have them in any specific order though.

Dennis Dixon, QB Oregon - Led his team to a dominating win over Washington. Threw for 196 yards going 19 for 30 with a TD. Accounted for 99 yards of the team's 465 yards on the ground on 62 attempts. On the year Dixon is 137 for 198 at 69.2% for 1,721 yards and 16 TD and 3 int. Also has 75 attempts for 423 yards and 7 TD.

Matt Ryan, QB Boston College - Has his team in good position so far in the National Championship picture. Had a bye this last week but shouldn't have hurt him, he has great numbers this year on a very good BC team. Ryan has thrown for 2,143 yards so far this year. He is completing at 63.2% 192-304 along with 17 TD and 6 int.

Darren McFadden, RB Arkansas - Off to another good year, helped his team down Ole Miss big. He contributed 22 carries for 110 yards without a touchdown. On the year he has 169 carries for 932 yards and 7 TD. He also has 1 touchdown through the air for 42 yards. McFadden's numbers might be higher already, considering his teammate Felix Jones has 81 attempts on the ground.

Tim Tebow, QB Florida - Is having a good year for being a first time starter. In his last game he had a combined 334 yards and 5 TD. He still has his team in the BCS race despite 2 losses, they're 11th. On the year Tebow has done it through the air or the ground game. Tebow is a pretty efficient passer he has 1,711 yards, 115-174 for a 66.1 completion percentage and 17 TD and 2 int. He also has 125 carries for 578 yards and 10 more TD.

Andre' Woodson, QB Kentucky - Despite 2 losses Woodson is having a phenomenal year. His team is still in the BCS ranking 14th in the race. Woodson was flawless in a losing effort to Florida, completing 35 of 50 passes for 415 yards and 5 TD and no interceptions. On the year Woodson has 2,201 yards at 64.7% completion percentage(191-295). He has 29 TD on the year 3 by rushing and only 4 int.
