2007 John Mackey Award

The Mackey Award is named after the Hall of Fame tight end, who became only the second strictly Tight End to enter the Hall. Blessed with speed and power, he earned the nickname "Mack Truck". As you may know, this award goes to the best Tight End in the country annually, and with that being said here are the three finalists. The winner will be announced on December 6th, 2007.

Travis Beckum, JR, Wisconsin - Leads the Badgers in receptions, yards and touchdowns. On the year he has 73 receptions, 960 yards and 6 touchdowns. His 73 receptions and 960 yards are 4th in the big ten, and his 6 TD's are tied for 9th in the Big Ten.

Fred Davis, SR, USC - On the season Davis has 49 receptions, 753 yards, and 6 touchdowns, which leads the Trojans in every category. He has a long of 63 yards and averages 15.4 yards per reception. Within the Pac-10 Davis ranks 7th in receptions, 6th in yards and touchdowns.

Martin Rucker, SR, Missouri - The senior tight end has a team leading 75 receptions on the year and ranks second on the team in yards and touchdowns, with 739 yards and 8 touchdowns. Rucker is tied for 4th in the Big 12 in receptions, only behind Crabtree,Nelson, and Amendola who all have over 100 receptions. He ranks 12th in yards and is tied for 9th in touchdowns.
