Duke Basketball

Well last night I got to see The Blue Devils for the first time this year in their second game of the season. I'll start off by saying that, having 17 turnovers against a New Mexico State team doesn't look good. Six people where involved with the turnover bug last night and aside from Lance Thomas who is a forward, the other 5 where guards. Another thing that needed improvement was the amount of open shots the Aggies where able to get. If they play a team that can shoot, they're going to be in for some trouble. Paulus is running the point again this year, so far he is averaging 3 assist to every one turnover(12 assists and 4 to's). Last year he averaged a dismal 1.23 assist to turnover ratio(124 assist and 101 turnovers). I'm curious to see how he factors in this year handling the ball. In the terms of scoring Jon Scheyer came off the bench and scored 22 points, hitting 4 three's. He is the leading scorer through the two games and if he can keep his production up he'll be the leading scorer through the year. Now the young talent looks promising, they play a key role in offensive production. Kyle Singler gives you a little bit of everything and Taylor King puts on a show at times. The lefty out of Mater Dei can really shoot the deep ball, I love it. Nolan Smith came in from Oak Hill as a point guard, but I have seen him in there with Paulus so I don't think he held to just backing up Paulus at point. With that being said, he is a good talent but from the two games so far it seems he either has a very good game or he has a very bad game. Overall I see this team winning 25 games give or take and maybe skating to the Sweet Sixteen. They're going to have to tighten up on defense though, if they want to make a deep run during March Madness.
